The PLMJ Library
Our custom-made carpentry department is always ready for the challenges posed by architects and interior designers, in a collaborative process that aims to transform an idea into a real, functional object that respects the original aesthetic concept.
In this example, we show some of the steps that led to the construction of a circular bookcase for the PLMJ library, a project with architecture by Bak Gordon Arquitectos and interior design by Castilho Ortigão Ramos.
From idea to production
After Bak Gordon Arquitectos designed the bookcase, our designer support department took care of providing all the technical assistance so that each of the project's designed parts is made with the greatest possible technical detail, while honoring the aesthetic design of the piece.
At the factory, our experienced woodworkers, in conjunction with state-of-the-art machinery, including two woodworking CNC machines and painting booths, carefully produced the bookcase and prepared it for installation at its final location.
The installation
After being properly packed by the logistics department, the bookcase went by Bamer's own transport to Lisbon. On-site, our assembly team carried out a careful assembly for an irreproachable final result.
The Final Result
With its circular structure in MDF lacquered in RAL7044, the library bookcase has two functions: that of organization, providing storage for hundreds of law books; and aesthetics, giving this space, at the PLMJ headquarters in Lisbon, a necessary sculptural element.
