BAMER partners with the University of Miami School of Architecture
BAMER established an agreement with the University of Miami School of Architecture (U-SoA), which promotes student competition to develop silent pods. Under the theme of silence, the competition addresses the issue of noise pollution, especially in work and study environments, where this element has a negative impact on mental health and behaviour, compromising productivity and creative output.
In the context of this competition, aspiring architects are challenged to conceptualize silent pods - such as phone booths, work booths, and informal meeting booths, among others - for the most varied environments and user needs. The competition will value the inclusion of innovative technology, sustainable construction practices, ecological sensitivity, adaptability to climatic exigencies, optimal spatial organization and harmonization with contextual aesthetics.
Spearheaded by BAMER, the competition will culminate in a rigorous jury evaluation. The two best proposals will receive support for the development of prototypes and a monetary prize: €1200 for first place and €850 for second, as well as a trip to Portugal. Here, the students will have the opportunity to visit the BAMER factory in Aveiro to delve deeper into their projects with our technical team and explore its potential for building prototypes, thereby incentivizing innovation and excellence in design.
